Dramatically different to the East coast, the West Coast of Paxos is breathtaking and memorable. Organised boat trips from Loggos, Lakka and Gaios allow you to explore the West Coast from the sea, during the day and for sunset tours in the evening. A series of caves called the Blue caves are simply spectacular, the largest of which, Grammatiko cave, hid allied submarines during the second world war. Swimming in the blue caves of Paxos is sheer delight, the memories of which will last long after your holiday has ended. The cliffs at Erimitis are a tower staggeringly above you as you pass them on the trip. Most people chose to take the organised boat tours when visiting the West Coast, although some hire boat companies do allow their boats to be taken to the west coast on calm days.
