Beaches

The water around Paxos is famous for its clear, blue, warm character. It is truly a delight to swim in these waters. The beaches are small and unspoilt, with the majority being located on the east coast of the island. Most of the beaches are either stone or shale, although there is a sandy-bottomed beach in Lakka and a small sandy beach in Mongonisi. There are approximately thirty beaches on Paxos, some of which can be reached by car or bike, with some only accessible on foot. The beaches on the west coast are only accessible on foot, but are well worth the effort

Many people chose to discover the beaches of the east coast by hire boat. Boats are available for hire in Loggos, Lakka and Gaios. A day spent on a hire boat is a fantastic way to discover all the beaches of the East Coast, including some coves which are not accessible from land, even on foot

If hiring your boat from Loggos, there is nothing better than hopping off after a hard days relaxing on the east coast, into one of the many tavernas in the sleepy fishing village
