Paxos inhabitants live in a handful of picturesque villages, many of which are hidden inland. The best way to explore most of these villages is on foot. Walking through the olive groves and on cliff paths, you can imagine you are the only people on the island. If you like walking, there are many tracks through the olive groves where you will find many sights. Most impressive of the archeological buildings in Paxos are the old Venetian houses in Lakka and Gaios, as well as the byzantine church at Hyperpanti The owners of Zakspitaki are keen walkers themselves and can recommend many good short or full-day walks for you to do. We might even be persuaded to come with you and show you some of the smaller routes which are harder to find! An excellent reference map and walking book is available, as is guided tours by an experienced guide. Details are available in your room and from the owners Whatever your walking capabilities are, Paxos has something to offer everyone - from those who like short walks to the bar, to others who like to make a full day of it, stopping off in local tavernas en-route and picnicing in the olive groves
